The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial leadership and direction to the tactical buying, procurement administration and travel teams within the Procurement Division of the company and its subsidiaries.
Detailed description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
Develop and implement sectional operational plans aligned to the Financial Services Department (FSD) and the Bank as well as clarify performance expectations for own team.
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the section including travel services, procurement service desk, tactical buying as well as vendor and catalogue master data management.
Manage and enhance relationships between the section and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Analyse and integrate management information relating to the sections for reporting to the top management and stakeholders.
Manage the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Procurement Policy and relevant guidelines, ensuring good governance.
Ensure continuous improvement of the delivery and functioning of the operations section within the procurement division.
Manage all tactical buying and travel related risks.
Analyse spend and demand in order to formulate and implement tactical category strategy.
Collaborate and liaise with the Legal Services Department (LSD) for the reviewing and administering of contracts.
Collaborate and liaise with the strategic sourcing and governance sections to optimise the procurement and governance process.
Manage the performance and development of staff in the section, provide technical coaching and guidance as well as motivate the team to deliver results.
Job requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
a minimum of an Honours degree (NQF 8) in Commerce or Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification; and
a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a procurement operations environment, of which at least 2-3 years should have been in a management capacity.
The following will be an added advantage:
a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) certification; and
a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certification.
