Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Commerce Honours (BCom Hons) or equivalent in a relevant field (Essential/Minimum)
  • Completion of a Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in procurement, imports contracting, and negotiations (Essential/Minimum)
  • Proficient in risk management and compliance with governance and policy standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop internal and external relationships
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including mentoring and motivation of high-performance teams
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contract management and alignment with corporate strategies
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget planning and resource allocation
  • Capability to adapt swiftly and innovate within a dynamic work environment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse cultures and foster an inclusive work environment

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and contract management initiatives to align with the supply chain strategy for Matla Coal, ensuring compliance with governance and policy standards
  • Develop and manage internal and external relationships to foster collaborative partnerships, promoting the sourcing business partner model.
  • Implement and monitor procurement activities to mitigate risks, enhancing compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee the negotiation, conclusion, and management of procurement contracts, aligning them with corporate strategies and objective
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development and motivation of high-performance teams, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and performance targets.
  • Manage financial resources efficiently, planning budgets and monitoring performance against business objectives to achieve strategic procurement goals.
  • Facilitate effective supplier management by developing negotiation plans, reviewing performance scorecards, and ensuring stakeholder engagement in selection processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices, leveraging market research and technological enhancements to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and regulatory compliance, encouraging best practices and innovation in procurement operations within the business unit.
  • Support the enhancement and utilization of systems infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and effective ERP module deployment across procurement functions.
