Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations in Makhanda. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and at least 8 years of payroll experience, including management within the payroll section. Proficiency in Sage 300 and advanced Excel skills are essential. This role involves ensuring compliance with legislation and improving payroll processes.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Affirmative action South African, willing to relocate to Makhanda
• Relevant Degree (NQF 7), ideally Finance/ Payroll
• Minimum 8 years' experience including:
  • Payroll processing of a large employee base and multiple payrolls (monthly and weekly)
  • Job costing functionality
  • Submissions to SARS, including SARS online systems, and managing SARS verifications and audits
• Minimum 3 years' supervisory/ management experience of a payroll section
• Proficiency in Sage 300 and all MS applications, with advanced competence in Excel
• Knowledge of current legislation relating to PAYE, UIF, LRA, BCEA and relevant financial legislation

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Payroll section within the Finance Division
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and related transactions
• Ensure good governance and sound controls to comply with legislation
• Continuous improvement of payroll-based business processes and systems
