Job Function

Is responsible for the management of processes, teams and resources accountable for the planning and scheduling of managed transport solutions required to ensure the on-time and in-full delivery of client / customer loads through the use of suitable sub-contractors, contributing to operational effectiveness, client / customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability and compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements

Key Performance Areas

• Maintaining high service levels in the department.
• Administration function – assisting other departments with queries.
• Managing the efficient scheduling and accurate execution of loads.
• Ensuring conformance to company SOP's and HR policies.
• Assisting with transporter costing.
• HR management of reportable employees.
• Maintenance and improvement of the TMS.
• Expanding current fixed and ad-hoc transport network.
• Constantly striving to improve KPI's and performance through continuous improvements.
• KPI reporting and presentation.

Qualifications Required:

• Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required

• 4 – 6 years of experience in a supply chain environment.
• At least 2 years managerial experience in a similar role.
• At least five years' proper and similar controlling experience in vehicle routing and scheduling.
• Strong analytical skills (Strong MS Excel).
• Excellent communication skills – daily contact with clients, dispatch teams, delivery points, subcontractors and drivers.
• Well versed in e-mail etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills.
