• Ensure safety for your section, including FPS compliance on level 5, LBIs, PSIFs, Safety Meetings, Forum 4, Pact Agreements, SFAs, and statutory cards. Manage all safety, health, environmental, and business risks for your section.
• Oversee and manage Execution Teams to effectively and efficiently execute scheduled work, ensure high-quality work execution, and balance resources based on plant priorities and business needs. Provide proper feedback via job cards for continuous improvement.
• Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance for execution teams serving BOF, Secondary Metallurgy, Caster, and outside services in Steel Making.
• Plan and execute all Steel Making planned shutdowns.
• Develop and maintain excellent employee and union relationships.
• Develop and execute maintenance strategies for your areas.
• Manage maintenance systems for your areas.
• Drive continuous improvement and identify cost-saving ideas.
• Manage training requirements and ensure the competency of subordinates in managerial, technical, and safety aspects.
• Coach and develop supervisory staff and high-potential candidates.

Qualifications:

• B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Management Development Program (advantageous)

Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Steel plant environment
• SAP experience (plant maintenance and project systems)
• Experience managing multiple maintenance teams
• Experience in Steel Making environment – Hot Metal Handling, BOF, Secondary Metallurgy, Continuous Caster, Raw Materials Handling
• Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Projects
