The Manager Information Security Architecture is responsible for delivering technical security solution designs, reference architecture designs, and technical standards for Information Systems within the MTN Group in accordance with enterprise security designs.
Security is entering a new phase where architecture and systems between IT and the Mobile Network are now using shared platforms or infrastructures. There is an increased focus on the security of these networks and across all business areas. The introduction of cloud has blurred the lines between traditional IT security professionals and Mobile Network Security functions. The candidate is responsible for vetting and advising all OPCOs in the MTN portfolio on Core network, Digital, and IT security projects, including in-house software developed by S2 COE. Additionally, the candidate will support Fintech and Infraco security colleagues in designing robust and secure architectures for platform businesses.

Key Performance Areas
The Manager Information Security Architecture is responsible for:
- Developing security solution architectures (people, processes, technology)
- Creating security reference architectures to manage threats, monitor implementation & compliance, and support Fintech and Infraco security architecture design
- Refining and testing the security reference architecture against pilots and ongoing implementations
- Validating architectures with key partners
- Designing security architectures for risk mitigation, monitoring, and vulnerability management
- Developing reference architectures for technical security solutions
- Assisting OPCOs with security solution designs
- Evaluating current security operations and standards, studying architecture, and identifying integration issues
- Assessing third-party technologies and hosting environments for security adequacy
- Establishing security standards for all components of application stacks and cloud environments
- Maintaining a 3-5 year security architecture roadmap with budget considerations and presenting to senior management
- Supporting the Architecture Working Committee and AI security initiatives
- Supporting network standardization activities of GSMA FASG
- Managing budgets and driving cost-reduction initiatives
- Implementing security architecture requirements and frameworks in collaboration with senior management
- Overseeing security architecture rollout via third parties
- Monitoring security environment and implementing system enhancements
Job Requirements
Education
- 4/6-year degree in IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields
- Master’s in Business Administration (advantageous)
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CSSP (one or more)
- SABSA, TOGAF, Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS), DevSecOps, IA, Responsible AI, ITIL, TMF, COBIT (all advantageous)
Experience
- 3-5 years in relevant IT security roles
- Experience designing and implementing organizational security architecture
- Experience managing large-scale security projects
- Experience in Africa and Middle East, understanding regional challenges
- Knowledge of telecom IT environments

- Deep understanding of security disciplines, architecture, and solutions
- Knowledge of security products, tools, and industry trends
