Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities



1. Group Accounting and Financial Records

  • Maintain and take ownership of the books and records for Group holding companies.

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of general ledger data and reporting through the appropriate finance and consolidation systems.

  • Liaise with overseas agents to:

    • Maintain complete accounting records.

    • File local tax returns.

    • Provide board-level management information.

    • Maintain delegations of authority and internal controls.

    • Prepare accurate cashflow forecasts.



2. Group Financial Reporting

  • Consolidate financial statements across the Group and its subsidiaries.

  • Coordinate the audit of the Group's consolidated financial results.

  • Ensure that distributions from subsidiaries are recorded accurately and in line with relevant local laws and regulations.

  • Prepare technical accounting position papers for transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, and fair value analysis.

  • Report on hedge or swap accounting as applicable.

  • Prepare audited statutory accounts for intermediate holding companies.

  • Deliver additional Group-level reporting as required.



3. Monthly Financial Controls and Procedures

  • Review and critically assess monthly trial balances across the Group.

  • Oversee the conversion of OHADA-based reporting entities into IFRS.

  • Prepare consolidated balance sheets and resolve intercompany or consolidation variances.

  • Prepare Group-level tax calculations and adjustments.

  • Compile statements of changes in equity and group-wide cashflow reports.



4. Systems and Configuration

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the financial systems used for consolidation and reporting across the Group.

  • Support the maintenance and optimization of system configurations for financial reporting.



5. Subsidiary Support and Capacity Building

  • Deliver financial accounting support to subsidiary teams.

  • Provide training and guidance on IFRS application and management reporting standards.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent (e.g. BCom Accounting with SAICA articles)

  • Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in an accounting, reporting, or group consolidation role

  • Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles

  • Demonstrated experience in consolidation accounting, ideally across multiple entities or jurisdictions

  • Prior exposure to working in a global or multinational organization is advantageous

  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting systems and consolidation platforms
