Job summary

A financial consultancy is seeking an experienced risk analyst in Johannesburg to provide equity risk expertise for strategic investments. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in credit and equity risk assessment, and will be skilled in preparing comprehensive risk reports. Strong knowledge of Power BI and a first degree in a relevant field are essential for this role.

Business Segment: Corporate & Investment Banking

Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, 30 Baker Street

To provide Equity Risk expertise to any reviews, Equity Capital Markets transactions, Equity Finance, BEE transactions and other Group strategic investments, in order to assess, analyse and identify risks to enable the Business Units in making profitable credit decisions.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Legal, Risk Management
Licenses & Certifications: Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Chartered Accountant CA (SA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Experience Required
3-5 years experience and excellent understanding of risk and controls, how they are measured and assessed against risk appetite. Preparation of risk reports and MI packs for a range of audience and requirements.

3-5 years experience in credit, equity, valuations, leverage or subordinated risk.

3-5 years experience within a risk function of a financial services company, preferably with exposure to risk and control, self-assessment, control testing, scenario analysis, risk monitoring and KRIs. Experience of using information/visualisation systems for review and reporting, ideally Power BI.
