A leading company in the logistics field seeks a qualified individual to manage warehouse operations in Johannesburg. The role involves ensuring daily equipment serviceability and compliance with safety standards, as well as overseeing maintenance teams. The successful candidate will be experienced in logistics and hold relevant qualifications for effective warehouse management.
Location : Johannesburg
Requirements : Logistics and Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 6) - must have a certificate to present. Minimum of 5 years working experience within a warehouse and maintenance environment. Supervisory or managerial roles overseeing maintenance teams.
About : Available for shift work during operational hours.
Main purpose of the Job : To manage daily operational equipment requirements for our network, ensuring customer allocations meet the maintenance programme, and all warehouse equipment and vehicles are serviceable according to health and safety standards and asset guidelines.
Equipment and Serviceability Inspections : Check daily equipment availability nationwide for operational needs. Inspect and evaluate equipment effectiveness to prevent risks. Liaise with sales for customer requirements. Complete checklists to evaluate operational readiness and manage cargo processing bottlenecks. Conduct handover processes at branch level to identify damages for maintenance planning and cost allocation. Allocate unserviceable ULDs for repairs, ensure procurement follows, and inspect work against quotes to prevent waste. Engage with customers, ground handlers, and warehouse staff on damages to recover costs and ensure ULD readiness.
Service Intervals and Asset Management : Manage service intervals of vehicles and equipment per manufacturer guidelines to prevent disruptions.
Warehouse Readiness : Complete health and safety checklists, verify information for preventative maintenance, analyze equipment for improvements, inspect warehouse spaces, ensure procurement compliance, and monitor stakeholder engagement to manage risks.
Safety Awareness : Review staff safety training, plan safety campaigns, compile audit corrective actions, attend regulatory review sessions, and communicate changes to staff.
Salary : R 31.84 CTC, with small medical and pension deductions.
