Qualifications

Overall Job Purpose:

To manage and lead the engineering & maintenance function at the operation. This role involves ensuring high engineering standards, safety, and the successful implementation of capital projects. The Manager Engineering will oversee the maintenance team, promote a safe work environment, and focus on reducing operational risks and protecting assets.

Required Skills & Experience:

• NQF 7 Bachelor’s degree/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competency – Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mineral processing environment; 2.13.1 Engineer appointment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of hydrometallurgical process equipment is advantageous.
• Broad knowledge of people management and mining operations.
• Leadership: assertive, goal-oriented, with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with sound analytical and decision-making skills.
• High integrity, tenacity, and ability to work under stress.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.

Appointment conditions:

• Certificate of medical fitness (Thakadu full medical exam).
• No criminal record (Thakadu criminal screening).
• Negative Nickel Sensitivity Test.
