Role Overview

Manages the development and implementation process of client’s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project within scheduled timeline and within budget constraints.

Essential Functions
  1. Develops and implements roadmaps, resourcing, project scheduling and oversight, and process improvements for the team and function.
  2. Identifies gaps and sets technical strategy for the team.
  3. Participates in cross-functional initiatives and leadership meetings.
  4. Drives the evolution of engineering standards and practices across the department.
  5. Provides technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, identifying individual growth needs.
  6. Achieves results through professional employees by setting project timelines, priorities based on project objectives, and overseeing ongoing assignments.
  7. Attracts, selects, and retains high-level talent through active participation in performance management and professional development of team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of management experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in more than one major programming language.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, including system design, architecture, and development practices.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced development environment, focusing on improving practices and processes to enhance team efficiency, collaboration, and code quality in a large-scale organization.
  • Proven success as a coach and mentor of technical staff.
  • Ability to motivate oneself and others, prioritize work, and adapt in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with React.
  • Experience with AWS or Salesforce Platform, particularly developing managed packages as part of the ISV Partner Program.
