Current Opportunity: We are seeking a Manager in M&A within the Deal Advisory Business Unit in Johannesburg.

About the Role: The Senior Manager will be responsible for implementing complex public and private buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, BEE transactions, and equity and debt capital raising transactions for local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing, mentoring, and training colleagues.
  2. Day-to-day project management, liaising with clients and stakeholders.
  3. Coordinating with transaction advisors on due diligence, tax, legal, and regulatory deliverables.
  4. Performing and reviewing financial models, transaction structuring, and capital structuring.
  5. Preparing investment teasers, management presentations, board materials, and information memoranda.
  6. Reviewing transaction agreements and interacting with senior team members and clients.
  7. Providing leadership and supervision to junior staff.
  8. Managing risk procedures from inception to completion.
  9. Overseeing work-in-progress, billing, and collections.
  10. Supporting origination efforts and sector research.
  11. Identifying opportunities and mitigating risks based on industry environment awareness.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong financial and business acumen with analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills for strategic client interactions.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on mentorship.
  • Adaptability to change and ambiguity.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills (DCF, LBO, Project Finance).
  • Knowledge of South African regulatory environment (Companies Act, JSE Regulations, BEE Legislation, Corporate Tax).
  • Experience in project coordination in M&A and capital advisory.

Qualifications:

  • CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, or MBA.
  • Minimum 4 years of M&A experience; 6 years preferred.
