Position: Credit Collections Manager

Job Purpose

To report on key aspects of the credit portfolio across business units and lending products on a group level to provide oversight; thereby contributing to optimising the credit portfolio quality; and enhancing productivity by providing the necessary business reports and insights; in line with Nedbank's strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Credit risk reporting from a Group perspective.
  2. Guide and support Internal and External Stakeholders through formal and informal knowledge sharing relating to credit systems and credit data.
  3. Enable the compilation of reliable, accurate, relevant, insightful and timeous reports to relevant stakeholders through identification of data and reporting innovations.
  4. Credit and risk data mining, supply and analysis.
  5. Credit and risk data accuracy investigation.
  6. Use innovative methods in the analysis and presentation of information.
  7. Monitor quality of reports and make recommendations regarding improvements.
  8. Build and maintain an effective working relationship with all stakeholders.

Includes developing own knowledge of credit processes, policies and documentation and business strategies. Reporting automation and process enhancements. Participation in projects to improve service delivery, reporting standards, system enhancements. Provide secretariat functions for the Group Credit Committee, Executive Credit Committee and other related committees and forums. Planning and preparation of ad-hoc and special reports as and when required. Personal development, develop individual skills plan, attend scheduled development activities. Working with and in a team to deliver on common goals. Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc). Investigate system enhancements, solutions and oversee delivery.

Minimum Experience Level

5 years banking experience that must include 1 – 2 years relevant credit risk reporting experience.

Essential Qualifications

NQF Level Professional Qualifications / Honour's Degree.

Preferred Qualification

Professional Qualifications / Honour's Degree / CA(SA). Post graduate qualification in Risk Management, Accounting or Finance.

Type of Exposure

Working within a group and individually to achieve a common goal. Checking accuracy of reports, comparing two sets of information. Drafting reports (MS Powerpoint, Word etc). Knowledge of Credit risk management processes.
