Job Summary
To manage the governance, lifecycle coordination, and communication of conduct-related policies and to oversee the design, rollout, and effectiveness of the bank’s compliance training program. The role ensures that policies developed by relevant subject matter experts are aligned, approved, accessible, and embedded through targeted training and awareness initiatives.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Governance and Oversight
- Establish and maintain a central governance framework for conduct and reputation risk -related policies
- Coordinate the periodic review and approval process for policies developed by internal subject matter experts (e.g., Data Privacy, Conduct, Reputation Risk)
- Maintain a master inventory of compliance-related policies and ensure version control, approval records, and review cycles are up to date.
- Ensure clear communication and accessibility of approved policies to all staff.
- Conduct quality assurance on policy documentation to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with regulatory expectations.
2. Compliance Training Programme
- Design and implement the bank’s annual compliance training plan in consultation with compliance SMEs and HR/Learning & Development.
- Develop and deliver engaging compliance training content (e.g. AML, ethics, conduct risk, data privacy, whistleblowing).
- Work with SMEs to translate complex policy requirements into practical training modules.
- Track and report on training completion rates, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Support business units in delivering tailored, role-specific compliance training.
3. Regulatory Awareness and Change Communication
- Monitor regulatory updates and ensure relevant teams are informed of upcoming changes that may affect policy or training.
- Partner with SMEs to disseminate simplified regulatory guidance to staff through briefings, FAQs, newsletters, or internal portals.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure policy and training alignment (e.g. HR, Legal, Risk, IT Security).
- Act as the central point of contact for queries related to compliance policy access, training scheduling, and regulatory awareness initiatives.
- Represent Compliance in training forums, policy steering committees, and working groups.
5. Reporting and Compliance Governance
- Prepare dashboards and reports for compliance committees and senior management on policy reviews, training statistics, and issues requiring attention.
- Support internal audits and regulatory inspections by providing documentation related to policy governance and training efforts.
6. Culture and Engagement
- Contribute to shaping a values led ethical culture by driving awareness campaigns, compliance activities and employee engagement activities
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Compliance, Risk Management, Law, Business, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years’ experience in compliance, governance, or regulatory training in the financial services sec tor.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to banks (e.g., FAIS, POPIA, Conduct Standards).
- Experience in working with subject matter experts and coordinating policy or regulatory content across business units.
Preferred:
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Compliance
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and training design methodologies.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Education
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
