Job summary

Digital Outsource Services is looking for a Manager, Business Intelligence Reporting in Cape Town. You will support the Finance BI Reporting Team by innovating and automating processes to deliver accurate results. Qualifications

Role Overview

Manager, Business Intelligence Reporting – You’ll support the delivery of and execute the Development portfolio within the Finance BI Reporting Team, innovate, automate, and enhance processes to deliver accurate, near‑real‑time results.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team – recruitment, performance appraisals, duty allocation and day‑to‑day leadership.
  • Engage with business stakeholders on a technical level to understand requirements and drive solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to change‑management processes and SOX controls across all team activities.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, the tech lead and DevOps to cover and deliver software product requirements.
  • Develop team capabilities on both business and technical fronts and support growth at individual and collective levels.
  • Create personalised career growth plans for each team member using the skills‑assessment framework.
  • Represent the team and take accountability for overall delivery and outcomes.
  • Integrate ERP and finance data into databases, TM1 cubes and downstream reporting platforms to support financial reporting, planning and publishing of results.
  • Design, enhance and optimise data architectures, data models and data marts for migration to AWS, SQL Data Warehouse and ClickHouse.
  • Lead and contribute to end‑to‑end data migration initiatives, ensuring data quality, performance, auditability and business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards consuming data from SQL, TM1 and ClickHouse ensuring consistency and usability for Finance users.
  • Automate data extracts and controls required for SOX and audit compliance, with robust logging, monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Analyse and improve data pipelines, reporting processes and performance across the BI estate.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners and Finance stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes within timelines and scope.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members and support the uplift of data literacy within Finance.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 18 months of leadership experience.
  • 3+ years in a BI, Data or SQL Developer role (stored procedures, functions, automation of jobs, performance tuning, RDBMS, error handling, incremental loading, change tracking/CDC, etc.).
  • Advanced SQL expertise (data modelling, performance optimisation, automation, incremental loading, error handling).
  • 3+ years in ETL/ELT development and data integration across multiple source systems (flat files, XML, etc.).
  • Strong reporting and analytics capability using Power BI and Excel (advanced Excel skills).
  • Ability to produce accurate technical estimates and design scalable solutions based on business requirements.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and contribution to technical standards and best practice.
Desirable Skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of sports betting markets, odds calculation, betting types and market trends.
  • Experience in the online gaming or casino industry and understanding of player behaviour and regulations.
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
  • Experience developing and executing customer retention strategies.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Finance or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in software development or quality assurance.
  • Experience as a finance accountant or finance operations role.
  • Experience engaging with finance stakeholders and supporting a financial business unit.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms and architectures (AWS, Fabric, Synapse, Databricks).
  • Exposure to high‑performance analytical databases such as ClickHouse.
  • Experience integrating data via APIs and familiarity with event‑driven or asynchronous processing patterns.
  • Knowledge of ERP and finance systems – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, financial data structures.
  • Experience with OLAP and cube technologies (TM1, SSAS, Cognos).
  • Understanding of regulated environments, including audit, compliance and control considerations.
  • Exposure to online gaming and/or sports betting regulatory requirements.
