Job description

The incumbent will be responsible for increasing Visa's net revenue from directly managed clients. A high degree of commercial and technical acumen is required along with demonstrated ability to drive strategic objectives to closure.

Job Scope

  • Support on execution of short and long-term strategic plans for clients aligned to Visa's SA market strategy.
  • Develop and help to execute on a set of objectives and goals for assigned clients to increase Visa and client's sales volume and therefore revenue.
  • Support in the design and implementation of country strategy, by developing insights of client and market needs and advising on appropriate strategic and tactical responses.
  • Understand and clearly articulate how Visa's new payment tools and technologies will drive commercial value to our clients.
  • Follow global industry and local market trends, to package relevant insights and solutions to Visa's clients.
  • Support in identifying size and closing new business opportunities by analyzing client's market positioning, product profile and strategy, enabling Visa's functional teams to customize relevant solutions to fit identified needs.
  • Work with clients and Visa functional teams on ways to maximize profitability by offering advice on the development of target markets, product development, analytics, and relevant best practices.
  • Evaluate competitive actions with respect to the local market and recommend appropriate action.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Honours Degree required with focus on financial management, accounting, business strategy, and/or economics.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in retail or transactional banking. Direct card experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound business judgment with long-term view.
  • Strong analytical skills (ability to derive insight from data).
  • Strategic planning and budgeting skills.
