As a Technical Manager in the automotive industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of product development, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance within the automotive sector.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations while driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development: Lead and manage the technical aspects of automotive product development from concept to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Engineering Management: Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to drive performance and achieve project objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO / TS), regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Develop and execute quality control plans, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective / preventive actions to address deviations or issues.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements in manufacturing processes, materials utilization, and supply chain management.
- Technology Integration: Stay informed about advancements in automotive technology, materials, and manufacturing processes. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance product performance, reliability, and competitiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams to align technical requirements with business objectives, customer needs, and market trends.
- Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project timelines, quality, and costs.
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as a technical liaison with customers, addressing inquiries, resolving technical issues, and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to automotive regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements (e.g., emissions regulations, safety standards such as ISO).
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate technical documentation, project plans, test results, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.

- Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in technical roles within the automotive industry, with progressive responsibility and leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems.
