Job description

Job Description: Agriculture Business Development Manager

To drive, grow, and develop agriculture (Agri) for Hollard Insure in line with divisional budget objectives and overall Hollard Insure strategic intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead a team capable of managing the agri business effectively.
  2. Negotiate and structure solutions with intermediaries, consultants, and clients.
  3. Leverage underwriting opportunities to integrate agri solutions with other Hollard Specialist Lines and underwriting capacities.
  4. Design agri solutions incorporating reinsurance structures where applicable.
  5. Maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Coordinate with regional teams to support regional GMs.
  7. Manage portfolio within the area of responsibility.
  8. Explore new markets and develop existing business.
  9. Implement marketing initiatives within the area.
  10. Provide technical support and conduct training for stakeholders.
  11. Assess the feasibility of new business opportunities.
  12. Ensure quality assurance and peer review of agri proposals, adhering to governance standards.
  13. Build and sustain a profile in the insurance industry.
  14. Identify and develop product enhancements based on market and client needs.
  15. Communicate developments and trends in the agri market.
  16. Prepare and execute business development strategies.
  17. Develop processes aligned with FSCA conduct standards and legislation.
  18. Minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  19. Maintain reporting processes, including financial reporting.
  20. Represent Hollard at industry and agri events.
  21. Provide thought leadership through presentations, articles, etc.
