Role summary:

We are seeking a Manager, reporting to an Associate Director within the Business Services division. The role involves supporting the growing alternative assets team, with a focus on developing and mentoring team members, implementing procedures for the Cape Town office and private debt team, and providing high-quality customer service. The candidate should have significant experience and expertise given the responsibilities outlined below.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing the teams in Cape Town and manage daily financial reporting and client portfolios.
  • Manage specialised services teams on financial reporting, ensuring structures are run efficiently in compliance with laws and contractual obligations, and contribute to strategic business growth.
  • Work with management and Directors to ensure timely completion of NAVs, Management Reporting, and Statutory Reporting, complying with all accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Perform quality control prior to review and approval of payments, calculations, and transactions.
  • Develop and implement entity-specific procedures for reporting requirements.
  • Ensure reporting compliance with legal, statutory, GAAP, IFRS, and other principles.
  • Maintain divisional policies and procedures and support new structure implementations.
  • Oversee daily operations, monitor tasks, delegate appropriately, and support new structure rollouts.
  • Act as the primary contact with auditors for planning and coordination.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and train junior staff.
  • Support strategic development through client meetings, pitches, and proposals.
Skills / experience:
  • Professional qualification – CA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Three to four years’ relevant experience in finance.
  • Understanding of regulatory and financial reporting standards, including IFRS.
  • Strong team motivation and leadership skills.
