Job description

Solugrowth is looking for a qualified CA(SA) for a client within FMCG, based in Stellenbosch, to be responsible for financial reporting and assistance with statutory reporting. The role involves compiling and developing insightful reports and analysis for senior leadership, supporting the reporting function and wider business community with information requests, and ensuring integrity in reporting, systems, and stakeholder trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure integrity in financial results used for strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain up-to-date reconciliations for all reporting models (South Africa, International, and combined Group) for management and statutory reporting, including suggestions for improvements.
  • Support CIL submissions and SAP controls and checks.
  • Calculate and prepare group-level monthly journals.
  • Build trust in the corporate finance function through data and analysis integrity.
  • Ensure a smooth monthly reporting process to internal and external stakeholders, including advance planning, communication of deadlines, and maintaining the corporate calendar.
  • Consistently deliver results on time, ensuring quality and full accuracy.
  • Perform reconciliations between different reporting platforms and suggest automation improvements.
  • Work with urgency and support business performance reviews, Board, SA Board, and internal management reporting at various levels.
  • Support Remgro reporting, including secretarial and financial departments, and assist with Cognos submissions and CEO reports.
  • Handle various reporting outputs for different stakeholders and assist with ad hoc inquiries and analytics.
  • Conduct analytical reviews, investigations, and identify areas for improvement, engaging with others to gather information.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, dashboard specifications, testing, and continuous process enhancements.
  • Manage provisions and accruals, troubleshoot potential issues proactively, and ensure statutory reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist with IFRS and other ad hoc requests, ensuring consistency between statutory and other reporting.
  • Provide high-standard customer service, build relationships with stakeholders, and continuously optimize reporting processes for better decision-making.
