Management Accountant- Travelling Involved

Our client is a leading player in the forestry industry, with a strong presence across Africa.

They are looking for a dedicated and experienced Management Accountant to join their team.

The successful candidate will be based in South Africa, with regular trips to operations in Sierra Leone and Ghana.

As a Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in driving the financial success of our client's operations.

You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly production reports, analysing volume and price variances, posting monthly allocation journals, and continually improving standard costing.

Working closely with planning and production managers, you will ensure that BOMs / Work standards are accurate and complete.

Your keen eye for detail will enable you to review key production KPIs and identify distressed areas.

Additionally, you will manage product lists, ensuring new products are accurately created across the group with correct cost code allocation and uniform item numbers.

Leveraging your technical skills, you will automate reporting through the use of analytic tools to speed up reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Continually analyse and improve standard costing
• Work alongside the planning and production managers to ensure BOMs / Work standards are accurate and complete

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar business
• Experience in the manufacturing or forestry industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interact constructively with people across different cultures, disciplines, and institutions
• Experience working in fast-growing manufacturing businesses
• Fluency in English and excellent computer literacy
• Motivated, with a strong work ethic
• Detail-oriented
