Job description

To provide financial management accounting and service support to Saldanha Factory and Supply Chain Operations, informing sound strategic decision making necessary to optimize performance and achieve growth and profitability objectives.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

Duties include but will not be limited to :

  • Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts and other financial and management reports.
  • Manage month-end closure process in line with group deadlines.
  • Create financial reports and analyses with commentary on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc basis as required.
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly statistics and variance reports for the factories.
  • Monitor throughputs.
  • Ensure costings are correct according to standards.
  • Manage standard cost updates.
  • Ensure product cards and costs are correct on the inventory system.
  • Manage quarterly stock counts across various locations.
  • Review and ensure accurate stock balances on the inventory system.
  • Assist senior management accountants and Heads of Departments with the annual budget process.
  • Provide leadership and effectively manage a small team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting (CIMA advantageous).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong numerical ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of key business processes and practices.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Methodical and meticulous approach.
  • Responsive, energetic, and adaptable.
