Management Accountant

Excellent opportunity for a highly experienced MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

The incumbent must have at least 3-4 years of experience in the Insurance Sector.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Financial Control: Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control. Monitor and control expenditure. Interpret the impact of unusual figures identified by analytical review. Prepare budgets and forecasts in cooperation with senior managers.
  2. Data Collection & Analysis: Identify anomalies and investigate them with financial accountants to ensure processing is complete and accurate. If necessary, investigate data sources further. Analyze financial data, extract relevant information, and interpret data for past performance and forecasts by business unit, consolidating into personal lines.
  3. Cost Accounting: Conduct complex cost analyses to identify variances, suggest efficiencies, and increase profitability. Perform ratio analysis and interpret variances such as surplus ratio, claims ratio, expenses ratio, etc.
  4. Budgeting & Costing: Deliver budgets for organizational areas or conduct complex analyses on budget progress. Manage staff lists to ensure correct allocations. Assist with template population, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure budget accuracy. Provide guidance on budget procedures, identify issues, suggest solutions, and manage iterations between stakeholders and executives.
  5. Operational Compliance: Follow mandatory procedures to meet quality standards and comply with external regulations and internal codes of conduct.
  6. Insights and Reporting: Prepare and coordinate various financial reports.
  7. Personal Capability Building: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' Financial Management Accounting experience
