Management Accountant: Breeders

Job Description

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Management Accountant for its Breeders operations in the Agriculture division. The incumbent of this position will take full ownership and responsibility for managing the financial activities of the Breeder and Farm Services. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a BCom qualification with a minimum of 3 years financial management, budget processes, control and management and cost saving experience at a senior level. This position carries the grade of T12 and reports to the Financial and Supply Chain Manager: Agriculture.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor expenses against budget and highlight over expenditure before it is approved by the Production Manager.
2. Communicate costs and production figures by farm per cycle to farm/area managers in monthly one-on-one meetings.
3. Manage all egg, chick and end of cycle Cornish chicken sales.
4. Produce monthly accounts by the fourth working day of each month.
5. Produce weekly production KPI reports.
6. Ensure Breeder Finance SOP’s are up to date and all staff understand and adhere to them.
7. Manage Organics debtors in such a way that 90% of the book is 30 days and under.

1. Extensive knowledge and experience of the financial environment.
2. Good analytical skills and able to take corrective action.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Excellent report writing skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
6. Great attention to detail.
