Job summary

Candi Solar is hiring a junior-level financial professional to lead the South African team and support the Country Finance Lead with reporting, invoicing and cash management. The role requires a BCom in Accounting and at least 1 year of financial accounting experience, with bonus familiarity on Xero and advanced Excel skills.

The position is based in Fourways, Johannesburg with hybrid work from home options and a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Financial Accounting.
• BCom degree in Accounting is required.
• Bonus: Worked on Xero accounting platform.
• Strong technical, financial and management accounting skills.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and use of AI.

Responsibilities

• Financial and management reporting for SA team.
• Coordinating documentation for payments and loading bank payments.
• Loading bills and invoices into Xero.
• Monthly invoicing and project accounting coordination.
• Accounts receivable management and collections.
• Weekly and monthly reconciliations of major accounts.
• Inventory management and month-end/year-end close.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and budget vs actual reporting.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash management support.
• Taxation and VAT submission duties.
• Updating secretarial and statutory documents.
• Liaising with auditors and providing financial information.
• Ad hoc tasks as required.

Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic junior-level financial professional, who will help Candi to lead the revolution of solar. Given that Candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.

Specifically, the job requires taking ownership for the South African team and will be responsible for supporting the Country Finance Lead with the following:

• Financial and management reporting
• Coordinating the supporting documentation for payments and loading of bank payments
• Loading bills and invoices onto Xero
• Monthly invoicing
• Coordinating project accounting with the Engineering and Asset Management divisions
• Management and collection of accounts receivable
• Weekly and monthly reconciliation on major accounts
• Inventory management
• Month-end & Year end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting on budget vs actual
• Supporting in budgeting, forecasting and cash management
• Taxation and VAT submission
• Updating company secretarial and statutory documents
• Liaising with auditors and supporting the business areas with financial information as required.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required.

Location: Fourways, Johannesburg, combined with working from home.

Hours: Full time. 12-month contract.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Financial Accounting and a BCom degree in Accounting
• Bonus: Worked on Xero
• Strong technical, financial and management accounting skills
• Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel and use of AI
• Good communication and reporting skills - must have the ability to communicate and interact with a team of people through reporting cycles and change processes
• Good project management and attention to detail.
• Being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit is paramount
