COMPANY DESCRIPTION : Our client is a South African pharmaceutical benefits management (PBM) organization and specializes in electronic claims processing and the management of medicine benefits.

They are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION : Responsible for providing financial information, insights, and guidance to management to facilitate decision-making, financial control, and planning.

Ensures accurate financial reporting and analysis while adhering to organizational and regulatory standards.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis
  2. Conduct cost-benefit analysis.
  3. Monitor actual vs. budget / forecast performance.
  4. Monthly variance analysis.
  5. Management of general ledger and reconciliation processes.
  6. Analyse trends, variances, and risks for business decision-making.
  7. Preparation of management and financial reports (FD report).
  8. Accounts Payable and Pharmacy Management
  9. Management of Accounts payable and bank releases.
  10. Pharmacy payment reconciliations weekly.
  11. Cost Management and Efficiency
  12. Cost management.
  13. Asset management and depreciation.
  14. Identify areas for efficiency improvement.
  15. Monthly VAT returns.
  16. Reporting
  17. Ensure timely and accurate financial and operational reporting to stakeholders.
  18. BBBEE reporting for audits.
  19. Ad hoc reporting requests.
  20. Budgeting and Forecasting
  21. Assist in annual budget preparation and forecasting.
  22. Support with Strategic Planning & Decision-making
  23. Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
  24. Provide insights and recommendations for business decisions based on financial data.
  25. Assist with scenario planning and risk assessments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  1. Grade 12
  2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent related field
  3. Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Finance (advantageous)
  4. Professional certification (e.g. SAICA, SAIPA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  1. 5+ years experience in management accounting and financial planning
  2. Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  3. Experience in cost management, financial reporting, and cost analysis
  4. Experience in financial systems, tools, and business improvement initiatives (advantageous)
  5. Experience in ERP systems or advanced financial modeling tools (advantageous)
