The Role

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and inspirational Lead Key Account Manager to lead, grow, and develop our relationship with Service Providers based in Johannesburg. This Account Manager will oversee the evolution of accounts across territories and be responsible for tens of millions of dollars in annual revenue transactions involving all Juniper infrastructure solutions with these customers. The role requires close collaboration and existing contacts with top executives in the accounts within SSA. The successful candidate will have a proven track record working with Service Providers and be able to effectively connect with key stakeholders, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

The position is based in Johannesburg and reports to our Sales Director of Tier 1 Service Provider accounts across META.

What you will do

  • Sell Juniper products and solutions to, through, and with these key accounts, working closely with both the client and Juniper's direct sales channels, as well as the wider account team across EMEA.
  • Position end-to-end solutions and articulate Juniper strategies to senior management in the account.
  • Educate client sales teams about relevant Juniper solutions and promote the benefits of the Juniper partnership.
  • Develop sales strategies for target markets, including account targeting, goal setting, messaging, and marketing programs.
  • Manage forecasting, leads, opportunities, and reporting.
  • Engage with all customer functions involved in or influencing Juniper business developments (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Services, etc.), up to Senior Executive level.

The experience we would like you to have

  • Broad technological awareness, with knowledge of networking solutions, routing, switching, and security concepts/products within the networking arena.
  • Experience working with mobile/fixed service providers, either as an employee or a vendor partner, is preferable.
  • A proven track record of success (7+ years) selling to and through large, complex service providers.
  • 7+ years of experience developing sales strategies, preparing proposals, and presenting networking, security, or related high-tech solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills, with a win/win philosophy.
  • The ability to articulate a success record and demonstrate how a vendor can make a difference.
  • Relationship management skills that help identify decision-makers and influencers.
  • Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated, and a strong team player.
  • Fluent in English and the local language (ideally native level).
