The Role

This position provides technical support and expertise in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities include maintaining and improving components, equipment, or systems to enhance reliability, equipment value, and cost efficiency.

Key Performance Areas

• Mechanical or Electrical maintenance operations.
• Analyze, prepare, plan, and execute small to medium-sized improvements on machines and equipment (major improvements if necessary).
• Order and lead actions performed by contractors if required.
• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective actions, support planning, monitor outcomes, and document results including root causes and improvements.
• Work according to standard operating procedures.
• Achieve maintenance targets (MTBF, MTTR).
• Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
• Communicate operational status and deviations.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards (5S).
• Engage in continuous personal and operational development.

Profile Required

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Electrical / Millwright Trade Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Underground Hardrock Trackless Mining experience (advantageous).
• Computer literacy is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English.
• Code 8 driver’s license (minimum).
• Experience in fault finding, electrohydraulic, auto electrical, hydraulic, PLC, remote control systems (advantageous).
• Experience working in underground mining environments maintaining earth-moving equipment.
