Job summary

Vylor, located in Rosslyn, Gauteng, South Africa, is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance and Repair Team. You will perform daily plant and building maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and service on automation, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, ensuring safe operation.

The role requires fault finding, installation support for process equipment, and readiness for shift work in a 24/7 operation, with strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Millwright Red Seal Trade Certificate with a minimum of 2 years' practical experience post qualification.
• Electrical or Mechanical Diploma with relevant practical experience will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Wireman’s Licence will be advantageous.
• Registered gas practitioner will be advantageous.
• Reliable transport and willingness to work shifts if operationally required in future.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily plant and building maintenance activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform the disassembly, repair, replacement, and installation of process equipment.
• Maintain and repair all types of process machinery.
• Assemble and install machinery, conduct testing, and ensure safe and correct operation.
• Manage equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal production downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, replacing worn components, and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Participate in a maintenance standby roster supporting a 24/7 operation.
• Adhere to all company safety standards, compliance requirements, and local regulations.
• Provide functional guidance and support to assigned team members when required.
• Work extended hours, weekends, public holidays, and evenings when operationally required.

Maintenance Technician

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance and Repair Team. As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities supporting operational excellence. The role includes daily plant and building maintenance, routine inspections, maintaining, repair or replacement, analyzing, and fault finding of Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems, D&R or Installation of process equipment.

The successful candidate must be able to meet the functional requirements of the role, including:
