Job summary

Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd in South Africa seeks a Maintenance Assistant to support general and technical maintenance on-site. You will help keep mechanical equipment and plant running, assist with preventive maintenance, and contribute to installation and project work as needed.

Qualifications

Grade 12 minimum educational requirement.
1–3 years' experience in an FMCG environment.
Expert knowledge of engineering principles and processes.
Industry experience in FMCG.
Food safety knowledge is advantageous.
In-house systems and procedures familiarity.
Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
Analytical thinking and decision making abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Teamwork and collaborative approach to maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assist with carrying out preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Assist with installation and project work and undertake light installation.
Report defects noticed while performing duties.
Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
Undertake duties as assigned or during emergencies.
Provide technical assistance and perform maintenance and light repairs.
Visually inspect all system parts, valves, pipes and water treatment for safe operation.
