ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will maintain all equipment to the required standards, respond to production needs, and address equipment failures. You will work as part of a team but also perform work independently, maintaining high accuracy and safety standards.
POSITION DETAILS
- Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts during overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
- Ensure safety devices function properly after repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Sharpen and maintain machine tools.
- Participate in the Preventive Maintenance program to improve machine performance.
- Keep detailed maintenance reports and documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Adhere to safety policies, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Complete Global 8 Disciplines (G8D) on breakdowns exceeding 10 minutes.
- Complete Containment and Countermeasure Document (CCMD) for breakdowns.
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- N4 Plus Trade Test Certificate (Millwright).
- A diploma with a Millwright Trade is advantageous.
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry.
- Physical ability to lift up to 13.5kg.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to fault-find and work independently.
- Experience with variable speed drives, maintenance, and adjustments.
- Knowledge of field devices and Profinet networking.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Motor testing skills.
- Basic PLC fault-finding abilities.
- Knowledge of electronics and soldering skills.
- Experience with cross-travel hoists and hydraulic lifts.
- Use of root cause analysis tools like CCMDs and G8Ds to implement corrective actions.
