Job description

Our client based in Gauteng is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team.

To ensure that facilities and equipment are in good working order in order to minimize timely and costly losses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Development of all preventive maintenance activities defined in the Annual Preventive Maintenance Plan (APMP);
  2. Carry out maintenance activities curative requested by other departments, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and facilities;
  3. Make the correct changes of format cutting, filtering and screening machines for the preparation of fruits;
  4. Carry out periodic lubrication defined in the Annual Preventive Maintenance Plan;
  5. Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities after any intervention;
  6. Carry out start-ups and ensure proper working of equipment and facilities;
  7. Monitoring of all activities from outside companies for requested services;
  8. Fulfill the Job Cards of each preventive or curative maintenance intervention;
  9. Completion of records changes made to the preparation of fruit machines;
  10. Report to the superiors any anomaly detected in equipment and facilities;
  11. General housekeeping and cleaning maintenance workshop and working tools;
  12. General cleaning of boiler room, compressor room, generator, compressor cages and paraffin bund and recording of above mentioned in cleaning schedule;
  13. Carry out daily checklist and ensure issues are reported to your superiors and repaired;
  14. Carry out weekly scare verification and calibration;
  15. Carry out inspections on lifting equipment and ensuring battery levels are sufficient;

ROLE:

  1. Ensuring stock is accounted for on Job card and stock levels are reported regularly to your superior;
  2. Performing stock takes as requested by Maintenance Manager;
  3. Record daily consumption of water, gas and energy;
  4. Responsible for managing the waste generated in the activities associated with maintenance;
  5. Performing standby as per shift schedule.

QEFS RESPONSABILITIES:

  1. Ensures Cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness of the workplace;
  2. Knowledge of the FSSC requirements;
  3. Knowledge of the HACCP principles;
  4. Knowledge of OPRP'S and PRP'S;
  5. Know the environmental impacts and the environmental responsibilities associated with the tasks it performs, to contribute to the good environmental performance of the Organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum N2 Qualified Millwright;
  2. Wireman's License;
  3. Forklift license;
  4. Working at heights;
  5. Boiler technician;
  6. 0-2 years experience.
