Job description

This role is all about keeping things moving smoothly! You'll be the go-to person for maintaining, servicing, and repairing material handling equipment, systems, and products—whether it's on-site at customer locations or right here at our facilities. Your mission? To ensure both customer and company needs are not just met, but exceeded, all while keeping those vehicle records in top shape.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Keeping material handling equipment in top-notch condition is the name of the game! Here's what you'll be up to :
  • Handle the servicing and maintenance of forklifts to ensure they meet specified standards and adhere to established procedures, delivering nothing short of quality service.
  • When equipment breaks down, diagnose and troubleshoot accurately, then communicate repair needs to customers or supervisors.
  • Keep meticulous records of vehicle maintenance and operations, ensuring all necessary information is up to date and promptly communicated.
  • Advocate for service and maintenance programs to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Delight customers with polite and professional service, ensuring their complete satisfaction.
  • Maintain clear communication channels between yourself, workshop staff, and customers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to OHSACT requirements at all times, both on company premises and client sites, maintaining a secure work environment and staying up to date with legal regulations.
  • Stay sharp and informed by taking part in educational opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Must have requirements :

  • Qualified Diesel and / or Petrol Mechanic, plus experience with forklifts or similar material handling equipment; or Qualified Forklift Mechanic
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience pertaining to forklifts
  • General working knowledge of auto electrical systems (ignition, starting, charging, illumination)
  • Excellent work ethic – honest, reliable, hardworking, dedicated and takes pride in work carried out
  • Highly developed prioritising and multi-tasking skills; strong sense of urgency; problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with people at all levels in an organisation.
