Job description

KONE is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician in Cape Town, South Africa. Our team consists of maintenance professionals who deliver on-site customer service to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our equipment. We are looking for a service-oriented Maintenance Technician to provide professional elevator and escalator maintenance to our customers.

As a key member of KONE, you will be an everyday hero making people's lives easier. Your responsibilities include ensuring quality service, enhancing equipment safety and performance, and maintaining proactive on-site communication with customers and end-users.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and effective communication;
  2. Provide accurate and timely reporting of work performed;
  3. Maintain strong relationships with customers, contact persons, and end-users;
  4. Manage the site environment during service operations;
  5. Identify site risks and communicate them promptly;
  6. Perform unplanned service repairs as needed, with proper approval;
  7. Manage PAR stock levels and coordinate replenishments;
  8. Submit timesheets based on work completed.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications such as:
  • Red Seal trade test certificate, lift mechanic;
  • Completed NQF level 4 certification with a minimum 4-year apprenticeship;
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Diploma/Degree with at least 12 months shadowing a lift mechanic;
  • NQF level 5 certification with at least 12 months shadowing a lift mechanic;
  • Good communication skills and basic IT proficiency.
