Our client based in Germiston is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure compliance with internal procedures, HSE regulations, and safety roles. They will oversee the effective operation of production plants, supervise maintenance activities, coordinate resources, and collaborate with engineering teams to define maintenance policies. Responsibilities include developing maintenance budgets, supervising maintenance activities, managing resources, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining technical updates of systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Environment, and Quality Management Systems, and relevant legislation.
  • Supervise all maintenance activities, both preventive and breakdown repairs.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors for maintenance tasks.
  • Define and propose maintenance budgets, monitor costs, and optimize expenses.
  • Manage maintenance personnel and resources, ensuring safety and technical standards.
  • Oversee technological updates, system shutdowns, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor KPIs, prepare reports, and ensure data accuracy and transparency.
  • Maintain maintenance equipment, manage inventories, and oversee procurement.
  • Develop and update operating procedures and maintenance documentation.
  • Lead resource management, set objectives, and monitor performance.
  • Implement safety rules, prevent injuries, and ensure PPE use.
  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the field, with at least 3 years in management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and management abilities.
  • High integrity, interpersonal skills, and process knowledge.
