PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To effectively manage and control the Control Systems, ensuring they are always functional to facilitate effective delivery and communication within Foskor.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE REQUIRED:

Minimum:

  • Qualification: BSc Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering or B Tech Electronic Engineering (Electrical Light Current)
  • Experience: 5 years instrumentation experience in a mining environment at middle management level

Ideal:

  • Qualification: Post Graduate Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering or B Tech Electronic Engineering (Electrical Light Current)
  • Management Certificate/Diploma
  • Experience: 10 years instrumentation experience in a mining environment at middle management level

VTS Profile: Level Orange – Green and Valid Driver Licence

HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:

  1. Management of Operations and Strategy: Identify process automation and client needs. Determine viability of such needs. Develop a project plan adhering to sound project management principles. Motivate the project. Follow tendering processes. Identify competent suppliers. Implement and monitor approved projects. Control cold and hot commissioning of automated processes/networks according to the project schedule.
  2. Compliance to SHEQ Standards: Ensure staff are familiar with SHEQ procedures. Conduct monthly audits for compliance. Implement corrective actions for deviations. Hold monthly SHEQ awareness sessions. Interpret and enforce legal safety requirements.
  3. Leading and Managing Human Resources: Determine staffing needs. Coordinate with HR to fill vacancies. Participate in selection. Ensure proper orientation. Ensure staff have clear job profiles. Conduct performance discussions. Provide feedback and identify development needs.
  4. Record Management and Reporting: Compile monthly operational reports. Manage financial variances within budget. Coordinate leave rosters.
  5. Budgeting and Financial Management: Identify budget needs. Prepare and submit budgets. Use cost-effective purchasing. Operate within approved budgets. Report on variances with justifications.
