Supreme Processing has an opportunity available for a Maintenance Store Assistant in the maintenance department.
The purpose of the position is to provide support in the Maintenance stores by supplying and purchasing stock for the plant machinery and equipment.
The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Foreman.
Minimum Requirements
1-2 Years previous stores experience in a maintenance/engineering environment
Valid forklift licence advantageous
Basic computer skills
Proficiency in using inventory management software used to track and monitor stock levels
Basic knowledge of the types of spare parts used in a food manufacturing company
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Ability to work under pressure
Detail and accuracy oriented
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and process requests for spare parts from artisans and other maintenance personnel.
Accurately issue spare parts, recording details of each transaction in the inventory system.
Coordinate with artisans to ensure they have the necessary parts for scheduled maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Stock Planner to reorder items as needed.
Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of stock to avoid shortages.
Organize the maintenance storeroom for efficient storage and retrieval of items.
Implement a clear labelling system to facilitate easy identification.
Provide support in identifying the right spare parts and tools for specific maintenance tasks.
Maintain very high personal and stores hygiene at all times.
Perform any other reasonable task within his/her ability as operationally required by the company at any time.
Moving equipment in and around the stores using lifting machinery such as forklifts.
