Introduction
Mintek has an exciting career opportunity for a Maintenance Senior Planner.
The candidate will be responsible for the planning office and providing maintenance and project planning services to Mintek Campus, which involves work planning and scheduling, budget monitoring, labour planning, and reporting.
Along with providing support as an ERP user within CMS.
Responsibilities
Planning
- Scheduling activities considering the requirements of different engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, facilities, and projects.
- Monitoring and supervising artisan activities to ensure proper work specification and timely execution.
- Ensuring work schedules are properly sequenced to avoid delays.
- Receiving and issuing manufacturing drawings within CMS.
- Notifying relevant personnel about warranty statuses and supplier evaluations.
- Communicating planned maintenance activities to end users promptly.
Resource Management
- Ensuring the planning office is adequately staffed and workload is balanced.
- Optimizing resource utilization to minimize idle time and material wastage.
- Planning resources for maintenance activities, considering materials, spares, and skills.
- Capturing billable hours on SAP.
Reporting
- Reviewing maintenance plans regularly, considering resource availability and priorities.
- Interpreting SAP PM data for reports on resource utilization, maintenance effectiveness, and schedule compliance.
- Generating ad-hoc reports for management.
Procurement
- Collaborating with Finance to ensure correct and timely orders.
- Costing projects and providing quotations.
- Assisting procurement with specifications and supplier identification.
- Detailing project scope for quotations and estimating costs.
- Using OEM specifications, SANAS codes, and statutory requirements for creating maintenance tasks.
Process Improvement
- Investigating and implementing process improvements for efficiency.
- Using SAP PM data to analyze asset reliability and maintenance costs.
Health and Safety
- Identifying hazards and implementing mitigation measures.
- Ensuring statutory compliance.
Other
- Liaising with internal clients on maintenance issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Management.
- Trade Test Certificate (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years in a multi-discipline maintenance planning environment.
- At least 5 years experience with CMMS planning and scheduling; 7 years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with waterfall planning systems, project tracking, and quantity surveying.
