Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planning with a background in bulks explosives manufacturing plants and related equipment to join their team in Gauteng, with a key focus on the development and implementation of maintenance plans and strategies to ensure optimal operation of equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities :

  • Developing and implementing detailed maintenance plans and strategies to ensure optimal and reliable equipment and facilities operations.
  • Analysing data to identify opportunities to minimize downtime and operational interruptions.
  • Developing and managing comprehensive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal asset performance and lifespan.
  • Cost control for materials and resources in equipment maintenance.
  • Ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out effectively and in accordance with procedures.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and mitigation for potential equipment failures or disruptions.
  • Monitoring and reporting on maintenance KPI’s.
  • Providing technical support and training to maintenance team members.
  • Staying abreast of industry best practices and technology development.
  • Ensuring spare parts, supplies and resources are available to carry out required maintenance work.
  • Management and optimization of spare parts inventory including ordering of new parts and minimizing excess stock.

Requirements : Qualification and Skill

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
  • Matric certificate.
  • GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) advantageous.
  • 7 years’ experience in maintenance planning and asset management within the mining services sector.
  • Strong CMMS experience.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Effective analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Experience with multi-cultural, diverse teams.
  • Currently located in and around Gauteng.
