Job summary

A major FMCG manufacturer in South Africa seeks an experienced Maintenance Administrator to oversee planned maintenance schedules and manage engineering spares procurement. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical insights with proven leadership and innovative thinking skills, and must possess relevant electrical qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in maintenance and engineering.
  • Electrical tradesman qualification and NTC 3 required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer planned maintenance and schedule tasks for artisans.
  • Manage procurement for engineering spares and stock keeping.
  • Upgrade equipment for improved efficiency and install new electrical systems.

Job description

THE JOB AT A GLANCE

To administer the planned maintenance system, schedule maintenance tasks, and manage the procurement of engineering spares and stock keeping.

Maximise the effectiveness of the equipment and maintenance team through accurate work planning, control, and resource management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  1. Complete preventative maintenance schedules and allocate jobs to artisans
  2. Assign adhoc breakdowns and repairs to artisans
  3. Procure and keep stock of routine and critical spares for engineering stores
  4. Ensure equipment availability through proper maintenance to meet specifications
  5. Upgrade equipment and technology for improved efficiency
  6. Install electrical / electronic equipment on new projects or production lines
  7. Liaise with Maintenance Coordinator, Manager, or Site Engineer on external suppliers or contract work requirements
