Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Maintenance Planner and Scheduler

Position Type: Regular Full-Time

Location: Springs

Grade: Grade 03

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, maintain, and improve preventive maintenance schedules for all critical assets.
  2. Coordinate and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
  3. Create and manage work orders and job cards using CMMS (e.g., SAP).
  4. Prepare and issue maintenance schedules ensuring resource availability (technicians, tools, parts, permits).
  5. Prioritize work orders based on urgency, safety, and production requirements.
  6. Monitor compliance to planned schedules and update accordingly.
  7. Ensure maintenance KPIs are tracked and reported (e.g., MTTR, MTBF, adherence to schedule).
  8. Maintain accurate maintenance records and history of equipment breakdowns and interventions.
  9. Liaise with procurement/stores for timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
  10. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  11. Assist in annual shutdown planning and execution.
  12. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  13. Assign schedules on SAP system and coordinate maintenance planning meetings.
  14. Close out completed shutdown work orders and manage related reports.
  15. Manage work order turnover and oversee OEE reports.
  16. Provide weekly and monthly plant performance reports and downtime analysis.
  17. Manage work order filing, archiving, and ensure audit readiness.
  18. Participate in audits and update engineering reports.
  19. Ensure adherence to work order schedules and manage schedules on SAP CMMS.
  20. Supervise safety permits, shutdowns, and coordinate progress meetings.
  21. Manage SAP user access requests and equipment hierarchy updates.
  22. Coordinate post-shutdown meetings, documenting and planning follow-up actions.
Requirements:
  • Education & Qualifications: National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in maintenance planning/scheduling within FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and planning skills, multitasking, knowledge of maintenance workflows, proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project), analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, attention to detail, sense of urgency, proactive approach, results-oriented.
