Job Overview

The position will be based at Sasol Secunda Shondoni Mine, reporting to the Administration Manager.

This role is responsible for planning, resourcing, and coordinating onsite project plans.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee long-term strategic plans for maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability through cost-effective methods to minimize risks and rework.
  • Plan, resourcing, and coordinate onsite project plans effectively.
  • Schedule and coordinate all maintenance work and resources required.
  • Maintain and improve equipment availability and efficiency, supporting the maintenance team with scheduling and resourcing.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate spares and labor for maintenance of Joy Continuous Miners, Joy Shuttle Cars, and LDVs.
  • Ensure support equipment critical to maintenance strategy is reliable and available.
  • Expedite units and parts to ensure on-time completion of planned work.
  • Monitor shortages and provide delivery date information for planned maintenance and rebuild project parts, labor, and support.
  • Verify job card information, identify repetitive events, new defects, and suggest improvements to tasks or processes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical background or trade qualification is advantageous.
  • Certified Maintenance Planner (MPS) or similar certification.
  • Several years of experience in a maintenance-related field.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software.
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport.
  • Computer literacy: intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, including report writing and presentation.
  • Accurate with strong organizational skills.
