Maintenance Planner

Our client, an established company in the heavy industrial manufacturing industry in Durban, is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Planner, who will report to the Maintenance Leader, to join their team. Minimum Qualifications:

1. Trade Tested (Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, or Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal only))
2. Matric with Equivalent Tertiary Qualification

Minimum Experience:

1. Maintenance experience in a heavy industry environment.
2. Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling using SAP maintenance system.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Prepare job packages and input plans into SAP, detailing required resources, materials, and services.
2. Identify task activities necessary to execute job plans.
3. Determine materials, tools, and equipment required for tasks.
4. Gather safety information and requirements for safe task execution.
5. Consider material costs when selecting from specifications.
6. Review work orders for technical completeness and return incomplete orders.
7. Conduct field checks when needed and archive repetitive job plans.
8. Identify resource requirements for scheduled jobs using job plans.
9. Record tasks and relevant information within the work order system.
10. Set net capacity for crafts based on turnaround schedules and available labor.
11. Build the weekly schedule for optimal resource use and issue the schedule accordingly.
12. Monitor and review performance measures.
