Job description

To plan and coordinate all planned maintenance activities performed at the site to optimize manufacturing plant performance in a safe manner as per company's requirements.

Key Role Responsibilities :

  • Plan and arrange activities related to equipment maintenance to ensure machine availability is achieved.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings.
  • Place orders, receive, and control maintenance spare parts.
  • Control and manage maintenance store (stock levels).
  • Liaise with maintenance suppliers for breakdown resolutions, quotations, and annual inspections of equipment as per standards.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with safety and legal requirements (load certification, cherry pickers inspection, and load testing).
  • Ensure plant equipment calibrations, including gas units’ calibrations and pressure vessels.
  • Ensure maintenance quality system adherence through certification compliance.
  • Support cross-functional departments through administrative activities (Green Card System management, shutdown planning, PO and PR).
  • Plan and support organizational safety audits.
  • Support the procurement department to secure multiple service providers for competitiveness.
  • Adhere to health & safety requirements and standards as per company policy.
  • Wear protective clothing as required by the OHS act.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment at all times.
  • Use correct disposal bins for waste at all times.
  • Maintain zero IODs, unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the Group SHE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly safety improvements and audits.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience :

  • National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or NQF Level 6.
  • Artisan Qualification (Trade: Mechanical Fitter / Millwright) preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Own transport required.
  • Availability to work on standby.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Trustworthy and honest.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to understand and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
