Job description

Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd in Boksburg

Manage the Mechanical maintenance and service functions in coordination with artisans, to ensure that equipment, facilities and buildings are always operational/compliant at all times.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

RDM day shift employees reporting into Mechanical Supervisor.

Maintenance manager can change the electrical/mechanical supervisor to attend to RDM or Shift teams at his discretion.

  1. Ensure all Mechanical PMs (Preventative Maintenance Schedules) are to required OEM Standards and recorded within the PRM system.
  2. Ensure all PM's (electrical and mechanical) are completed to work standard and timing and recorded within the relevant PRM system.
  3. Review Mechanical engineering drawings, update, and correct as required.
  4. Ensure fabrication standards are maintained by assigned staff.
  5. Capex and Budget control.
  6. Recruit, guide, train, monitor and discipline assigned employees as required.
  7. Plan and prepare work and equipment usage schedules.
  8. Develop mechanical expenditures priority for equipment.
  9. Develop, refine and maintain applicable mechanical maintenance procedures.
  10. Develop mechanical material and labour forecasts.
  11. Train and inform employees about new work procedures.
  12. Provide information on modification on work policies, safety regulations, electrical codes and specifications.
  13. Review future buildings plans and inspect new buildings to ensure compliance with current mechanical codes and maintenance specifications.
  14. Maintain all required Mechanical & Electrical legislative documentation.

Working with electrical supervisor, manage all Routine Site maintenance activities.

I.e.

Canteen, garden, building repairs, cleaning.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
  1. National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  2. Must be a Qualified Artisan.
  3. Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  4. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills be an advantage.
  5. English language proficiency written and reading.
  6. Strategic thinker, negotiation skills regarding Service Level agreements, etc.
  7. Budget control and Financial aptitude and knowledge.
  8. Have rigorous attention to detail.
  9. Knowledge of general safety procedures.
  10. Ability to translate and meet maintenance requirements as specified.
  11. Troubleshooting ability.
  12. Strong conceptualization skills.
