Maintenance Manager - MAKRO - Wonderboom

Summary: To ensure all maintenance and services are completed in accordance with Makro standards to ensure efficient operations of the store.

FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration

  1. Process and document all quotes received for maintenance.
  2. Filing all invoices relating to maintenance.
  3. Ensure time keeping & leave records are up to date.
  4. Co-ordinates raising of Capex Orders to Group Maintenance Department.
  5. Complete Pre-Audit checklist daily, weekly and monthly.
  6. Work in collaboration with Administration Manager regarding budget constraints.
  7. Choose registered vendors for maintenance.

Health & Safety

  1. Ensure safety of all team members by adhering to the safety code / rules.
  2. Maintain awareness of safety procedures with team.
  3. Ensure maintenance team are educated regarding health & safety standards.
  4. Advise other team members, Makro personnel, or their managers where they are not adhering to safety rules.
  5. Management and control of all garden staff.
  6. Ensure that the gardener / garden services company cleans the garden.
  7. Ensure that tools are not taken from the floor for own use without being expensed correctly.
  8. Ensure tools are not "borrowed" by management and staff for own use.
  9. Be aware of shrinkage problems and report to relevant manager / security.
  10. Be vigilant regarding high value or high shrinkage items.

Team Management

  1. Ensure an understanding of Makro procedures / policies.
  2. Improve / monitor staff morale by conducting daily PDR's.
  3. Ensure staff adhere to all policies / procedures / rules / regulations.
  4. Take corrective / disciplinary action where necessary.
  5. Ensure maintenance team productivity through regular performance management.
  6. Staff training and development.
  7. Bi-annual PDD with maintenance team.
  8. Actively participate as a committed team leader to complete goals and deliverables.
  9. Facilitate use of job cards for contractors.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience required for this position.
  2. Matric / Grade 12.
  3. Technical skills / qualifications.
  4. Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Maintenance management role.
  5. GMR2 Machinery Act.
  6. The position requires trust and honesty and that entails the handling of cash and / or finances, which includes but is not limited to, the handling, administering, processing and distribution of the Company's monetary resources such as its stock in trade.
