Job Description
Job Purpose:
To serve the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all hotel plant, equipment, air-conditioning, and other systems.
As a member of the Engineering department, this role is responsible for ensuring that all engineering and maintenance activities are conducted to the highest professional standards, prioritizing guest comfort and safety.

2. Main Responsibilities:
Maintenance
- Carry out inspections to maintain guest comfort and ensure all services are operational.
- Prioritize work considering quality, cost, and timelines.
- Manage maintenance requests efficiently.
Planning and Organising:
- Comply with fire, health, and safety regulations and provide necessary safety equipment.
- Plan and oversee preventative maintenance, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
- Monitor energy use and implement savings measures.
- Prepare the Engineering budget and contribute to hotel strategic planning.
Administration
- Coordinate with P&C on employee matters including recruitment.
- Control departmental payroll and expenses.
Budget Management
- Manage maintenance budget, controlling costs and ensuring quality.
- Approve expenditures for repairs and upgrades.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and emergency preparedness.
- Monitor project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Lead responses during system outages or incidents.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as liaison between engineering, operations, and management.
Performance & Quality Assurance:
- Track KPIs like uptime, defect rates, and system performance.
- Implement monitoring and alerting tools.
- Drive initiatives to improve system reliability and scalability.
Working with Others:
- Anticipate and exceed customer and colleague needs.
- Use initiative and judgment to solve problems calmly and efficiently.
- Collaborate to achieve common goals and volunteer as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Hospitality qualification preferred.
