Job description

A leading plastic injection moulding company based in Germiston is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function within our manufacturing facility.

This is a critical role for a qualified Electrician or Millwright who combines strong hands-on technical ability with administrative and organisational expertise.We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving a preventative maintenance culture while responding efficiently to breakdowns in a fast-paced production environment.Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and oversee all plant and equipment maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records, maintenance logs, and service history reports.
  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians and artisans effectively.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Provide technical support and hands-on troubleshooting during breakdowns.
  • Drive continuous improvement in machine reliability and uptime.
  • Liaise with production and other departments to minimise downtime.Minimum Requirements :
  • Qualified Electrician or Millwright (Trade Tested).
  • 10+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential – plastic injection moulding experience highly beneficial.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent planning, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
