Job description

To plan, organise, and control ongoing maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Position Outputs
  • Implement maintenance strategies for dredging services.
  • Manage routine operational maintenance.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage operating expenses.
  • Maintain controlled stock levels for maintenance purposes with MTO.
  • Ensure sound corporate governance and risk management to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure effective and efficient business processes for long-term profitability.
Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Experience & Inherent Job Requirements

  • 2nd Engineer >3000 kW Engineering Officer of the Watch (STCW), or
  • Chief Engineer Officer (Port Operations) license, or
  • National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Mechanical Engineering, with Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch STCW III/1 license, and minimum relevant experience of 5 years.
  • Driver’s license (minimum of code 08).
  • Willingness to travel as required and approved.
Competencies
  • Maintenance principles.
  • Interpretation of specifications and drawings.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Overall knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of high and low voltage company policies.
  • Understanding of OHS Act and SOLAS regulations.
