Maintenance Manager

A well-established company based in Epping, Cape Town is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their team.

The Maintenance Manager will ensure the production facility runs at optimum capacity by minimizing breakdowns, managing ad-hoc projects, and being responsible for meeting Health and Safety objectives.

Requirements:

• MS Office Suite
• SAP Maintenance module experience
• 5+ years experience as a Maintenance Manager
• 10+ years experience in Mechanical & Electrical maintenance
• Hands-on as the job will require physical work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently based on company policies and practices
• Well-versed in Health and Safety

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance (planned & unplanned) in the factory environment as well as Health & Safety.
• Core team member for new projects with responsibility for specification of equipment & coordinating with suppliers.
• Coordinate plant maintenance tasks, ad-hoc maintenance to wash and health and safety tasks through the use of SAP maintenance module.
• Ensure completion of above tasks to required standard within the given timeframe.
• Create purchase orders for all maintenance and equipment purchases.
• Responsible for management and organization of permanent staff in reporting structure.
• Manage or leave requirements for reporting structure.
• Ensure that workplace safety standards are met and that appropriate safety clothes, shoes, hearing protection, etc. are used.
• Train and coach maintenance employees continuously according to standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with the production department to ensure that flow of production is maintained.
• Communicate daily with maintenance employees.
• Schedule and conduct toolbox talks.
• Ensure a clean and safe work area in the workshop.
• Other duties as assigned by the general manager.
